2014 Goals

Hey Loves,
So, obviously with a new year comes a new start. Many people make one or two big resolutions at the start of the year (and normally break that resolution within a week... Just me?!) but I thought I'd set myself 10 small(ish) goals to achieve throughout 2014!

1. Spend more time with family: This one is crucial for me. I am a massive family girl, and I am surrounded by the most amazing family ever. Unfortunately, this last year or so, I've drifted from some family members and don't spend as much time with them as I would like. So, this year, I am going to make sure I see them as often as I can.

2. Go back to Salsa classes: Earlier in 2013 I started Salsa and it only lasted around 3 months before I gave it up. I've dabbled in it now and again, but I want to do it properly and improve. That means getting over my fear of going to a new venue and sticking with it, even when I struggle!

3. Travel more: This is pretty self explanatory I'm sure, but I want to visit more places this year... I have 2 weekends away booked (one in Feb and one in November) and I want to go abroad in the summer as well. I've spent the last 5 or 6 years not travelling and I am craving some relaxation and some sun! ;)

4. Save money: Considering I want to go away more, this is a bit of a strange goal to have as going away costs money. However, I would like to save some money so I can start my future!

5. Read more books: As a child, I was always reading and I loved it. I still do, but unfortunately these days I don't always get the time!

6. Get back in to blogging: My blogging has sucked recently! I've contemplated giving up my blog and I've also contemplated giving it a complete revamp in order to get my mojo - BUT I still love it and want to write more and share more random stuff with you guys! <3

7. Do what makes me happy: For as long as I can remember, I've spent my life doing what I feel I should do, and not what I want to. 2014 is the time for change. From now on, I'm going to do whatever makes me happy and not give a shit what others think about that!

8. Get a hot beach body: Pretty sure this is on everyones list, right!?

9. Remember important birthdays and send cards: I am RUBBISH at remembering birthdays... They may be written in my diary, but it'll get to said persons birthday and I'll think 'shit, I've not got a card...' I need to be more organised.

10. Use my camera more: I have a decent camera but I never use it. I love photography and I love snapping away at small aspects of life and pretty things, but since September, I havent picked up my camera once! This saddens me, so I am going to document more things of 2014

11. Invest in a pair of Tango shoes: I'm a tango dancer. I'm a tango dancer that doesnt own tango shoes. Weird huh? I have latin and ballroom shoes, jazz shoes, ballet shoes etc, but not a pair of tango shoes. They are so beautiful, but so expensive! I never invested in them before, because until this year, I had a love/hate relationship with Argentine Tango, but now I need a pair.

So, there we go - They are my goals for 2014. What are yours?

Love and stuff

Christmas Tag!

I have been SUCH  bad blogger of late! Life has literally been hectic and I've hardly had time to compose myself, let alone enough to sit and write a post. I have been reading your blogs and watching a lot of YouTube so I'm still kept in the loop! ;) Don't worry ladies, I know what you're up to!
Anyway, with 12 days to go I thought it would be a good opportunity to ease myself back into the blogosphere by doing a cheeky little Christmas Tag!

1. Sign that Christmas is coming?

For me, that has to be when my town switches on it’s Christmas lights and has it’s annual Christmas parade. I missed it this year and it left me feeling very unfestive! Haha. Other than that, I guess it’s when you see the Christmas adverts on the TV, or when the first Christmas song is played on the radio!

2. Favourite Christmas song?

The Pogues – Fairytale of New York. I’ve always liked this and I’m not sure why, cos it’s not the happiest of songs to listen to!

3. Favourite Christmas movie?

I’ve cheated slightly with this because I have 2. My all time favourite is Santa Claus! It was released in 1985 which makes it older than me but I love it and  it’s one that I watch every single Christmas Eve without fail. You can’t beat a bit of Patch the naughty elf! My second one is a more modern choice, and that is 4 Christmases with Reece Witherspoon. It’s a Christmas Rom-Com and it always has me in stitches!

4. Opening presents... Morning or afternoon?

Because I’m part of such a big family, present opening seems to last the majority of the day! I love that though!

5. Smoky eyes and sequins for Christmas dinner or tacky jumpers all the way?

Neither to be honest. I always make an effort on Christmas Day, and being a Make-Up Artist, I like to make sure my make up looks nice, but I don’t go for all out smoky eyes and sequins and unfortunately, I don’t own a tacky Christmas jumper.

6. Christmas eve plans?

I’m not really sure what’s happening this year! I rather suspect I will be down the pub for a few drinks.

7. Favourite Christmas food and drink?

Definitely LOVE the full on Christmas dinner. Even thinking about it now makes my mouth water! As for drink, I drink the same thing as I do all year, so it’s not really Christmassy – That’s either Rose wine or Archers and Lemonade!

8. Favourite Christmas memory?

I don’t really have a favourite Christmas memory as such – I will always treasure and remember the Christmases I had with my mum… She died almost 10 years ago.

One thing that always makes me smile from my childhood is that every year my brother and I would have presents on the end of our bed from Santa, and because my nan was over for Christmas she would sleep in my bed and I would sleep on the floor. Anyway, my brother was always told not to come in my room cos he was too noisy so I’d wake up, take my presents in to his room and we would sit on our bed and open our Santa presents together. One year I slept in later than he did and he was sat on his bed, waiting for me so we could still open presents together. So cute!!!

9. Who are you spending Christmas with this year?

I’ll be spending Christmas with Auntie Sue and my family! This is the first year that I’m not round the corner from her house, so I’m going over on Christmas Eve and staying for a couple of days! Christmas Day is always hectic round there and we normally have 9/10 people for dinner. I love it!

10. Top of your wish list this year?

I don’t really have a wish list! I just want 2014 to be better than 2013… Oh, and I want a new hairdryer and the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette! ;)

11. What's on your plate?

Traditional Christmas dinner for me, and hopefully sticky toffee pudding for dessert cos I don’t like Christmas cake/pudding

 12. Must have nail polish for Christmas day?

I bite my nails so I rarely wear nail varnish! Ooops.

13. Favourite Christmassy scent?

I don’t have a specific scent, but I love anything slightly spiced.

14. What is at the top of your tree?

I have a tree at my house which has a star on it, a star on the tree at work and a Minnie Mouse Angel on the tree at Auntie Sues!

15. Boxing Day?

I’m off to my Dad’s for Boxing Day this year. I’ve never done that before – I normally visit him on Christmas Eve or the day before that!

16. Best thing about Christmas?

Spending time with loved ones. Cliché but true! I also love watching people opening their presents! Not gonna lie, I love receiving gifts myself, but Christmas is definitely about spending time with family.

This is the end

Hey loves.

I'm just going to start off by saying that this is a difficult post for me to have to write, and I wish I didn't have to write it but to be honest, it's good to vent and let off steam so to speak!

Last weekend, I made the very difficult decision to end my 5 year relationship with Matt. It ended up being a mutual decision although I'm still not sure if he totally agreed with me or just said he did to save me getting more upset? I guess that's something I probably won't ever know!

Through our ups and downs we had a really good relationship but after 5 years we had just grown apart and I wasn't feeling satisfied and we had also lost things in common!

People have been saying to me "oh well if you ended it then you should be ok"... But no, I'm not ok! I've been feeling tonnes of guilt for hurting him, upset and grieving the relationship and just generally feeling like shit!

I miss him, and I miss my gorgeous guinea pigs as well :( and I'm kind of struggling to cope at the moment, but I will be back on form and back in the blogosphere soon!

I just thought I'd let you know why I've been so rubbish lately and rubbish with my social media!!
